Summary:

Axel
I’ve loved her since the day I saved her from the playground bullies. When her eyes met mine something tugged at my heart. I didn’t know what it was at first. As the summer went on and the more time I spent with her at the park, I knew then that she was mine. When her family moved unexpectedly. I vowed to myself that I would never forget her.

Twelve years later, my little thimble is a country music superstar. She left something of hers from that summer, so when I heard her singing on TV, I knew that song was about us. During my one chance to meet the only love of my life, she didn’t remember me.

I wasn’t going to get another chance to meet her. The thought of her forgetting me freaked me out. So an opportunity led me to move close by, and learning where she lived, where she hung out… I kinda followed
her, but she doesn’t know it yet.

Milah
I never forgot who he was, but I just can’t remember enough about him. You’d think that after spending two summer months together, I could pick him out in a crowd, and find him just as easy with my highly paid Investigator. But some people ain’t easy to find. So I meet this guy at my concert, and we became good friends. I end up wrecking my car and suffer from short term memory loss. The guy I’ve been keeping in touch with saves me. He’s also the guy I plan to spend time with at my Lake House for the summer. Even though I don’t remember much, I’m starting to think that my childhood crush and I were never meant to be

Reader's Thoughts:

⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Kept Heart is a romance novel unlike any other I have read. I was not expecting anything like it to be so sexy and dirty. This is a pure guilty pleasure novel of unrequited love and second chances.

We have Axel, our main protagonist, who finds out that the girl of his dreams was real after all and plans to find a way to help her remember him.  For our female lead, Milah, unfortunately does not remember much from her childhood, which I can relate too in such a way it is like a mirror.

In fact, so much about this book and the characters, were so well put together that it feels more like a reality. The way Axel goes to far without logical thinking, the way Milah tries to gain control of her own life. It is honestly all so realistic; it is pretty accurate. What really hit home for me was the fact this novel takes place in sweet Carolina. It is not very often that we find a book that takes place in North Carolina. So, this was like a shoutout to Carolinians.

Now for some of the smexy stuff.

Oh. My. Lanta.

I was NOT expecting this much smexy. Like holy cow. This is for sure a guilty pleaser of guilty pleasures. Be prepared to get hot and bothered ladies and gents. Our author gave us so much, I had to put the book down to catch a breath and wrap my brain around the scenes.

Axel and Milah’s chemistry are beyond perfection. Enough so, that I think this is on par with 365. How else are we to wrap our brains in such a heated romance?

Now this book does have something that I can relate too.

Second chances.

The best of relationships is often formed from second chances, or thirds, or fourths. However, we can also see the consequences they can cause in the aftermath or duration. This I can relate too, as my relationship is formed from a second chance friendship turned marriage. So, in a way, with the amount of smut available to grace our reader minds, this book touches base to a lot of realities.

Everyone deserves a second chance, you never know where it may go.

** I was asked to write an honest review for this novel. It was not agreed for the review to be positive. I’m not compensated for my reviews.**
