Summary:
Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she is the best- but she does not know if even she is good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, Elena knows failure is not an option—even if the task is impossible.
Because this time, it's not a wayward vamp she has to track. It's an archangel gone bad.
The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other—and pull her to the razor's edge of passion. Even if the hunt does not destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just might. For when archangels play, mortals break.

My Thoughts:
I purchased Angel's Blood on a whim. I wanted to read something supernatural outside of the YA genre. Let me say, I was not disappointed. I have never heard of Nalini Singh until I stumbled upon this novel, now she has a fan.
Let me start by saying that this book is wonderfully put together. The flow is constant, the main character is a strong heroine. The characters excellently constructed.
When you first start the novel, you are following Elena as she starts a contract for the feared Archangel, Raphael. She then learns that Raphael and the other Archangels hired her to hunt a specific killer, not knowing how thin the ice she walks on is.
You then see the progression of Raphael, as he peruses an interest in Elena, only to have her slip through his fingers when he thought he finally had her. You also see how he learns to admire her as she nearly kills him on accident. You also see how Elena is drawn to Raphael as they work together to stop a killer.
One thing I noticed, is that Elena isn't as strong as she lets on. You also see a side of her that is, well, female. Her safe haven, she spent years building. Her nightmares that have her up at night.
We learn that the angels have an interesting ability to create vampires. That they have a ruling system, and that the Archangels have territories.
What caught me off guard, was the end.
Now I am not one who does spoilers, nor will I do one now. You will just have to read this love story on your own.
** I was not asked to write a review for this novel.
Nor was it agreed for the review to be positive.
I'm not compensated for my reviews.**
