Review: The Fallen Vampire by Beata Blitz

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Summary:
THE FALLEN VAMPIRE is the first volume in the FLUX & FIRMAMENT romance series for young adults. This epic adventure takes place in an entirely new universe—The Realm of the Cloud Lords, created by a catastrophic experiment at the Large Hadron Collidor, which has led to a fusion between our world and another dimension.

I received a PDF copy of The Fallen Vampire for an honest review.

This is what I imagine when I think of a prequel. Short, and introductory.
In The Fallen Vampire you follow Chloe as she struggles with her inner feelings as she yearns to be loved and hides a secret that could get her killed. Chloe just turned 17 when we meet her and she lives in a futuristic California. America was torn apart by many civil wars. The last of which brought forth two supernatural beings from, what we believe is, Hell.
After accidently revealing her secret at a party, she was quickly labeled as a witch and hunted to burn at the stake. Taking chances, Chloe escapes from jail with the help of the Sherriff's son and tries to run along the territory line of the Drakonin (Dragon shapshifters) and the Night Flyers (Bat shapshifters aka Vampires) Choosing to run on her own, Chloe leaves her help alone as she tries to make it to Mex-Cali. However, Chloe didn't expect to witness a battle between the two supernatural races and becomes face to face with two of her enemies. A Drakonin and a Night Flyer.

I am starting to think that, in this extremely short prequel, Chloe decided to choose loyalty to the Night Flyer. I was left wanting to know more about this mysterious Night Flyer that Chloe found herself tied up with. I am not really one for Vampire novels/series, however I am left wanting more. I feel there wasn't a lot put in about the two mysterious leaders. (Which might be explained better in book 1). However, with as much that was put in this prequel and how it ended, it felt like it should have been a book 1. But Alas, I will have to wait for the actual Novel to be released.
