Dust and Shadow (ARC) by Lindsey Pouge

Title: Dust and Shadow
Author: Lindsey Pouge
Series Title: Forgotten Lands
Published: September 10th 2017
Pages: 366
Format: PDF file
Source: Given as an ARC read for an honest review.

Summary: Eleven years ago, my mother was murdered, and still, her killer lives in plain sight. In Sagebrush Canyon, thirst rules, ignorance is power, and nothing is as it seems. It’s been two centuries since the boom of the Industrial Revolution sent the Victorian world into a devastating climatic shift. Now, chivalry is dead and the frills and frivolities of the romantic era are no more than a fading memory. Jo has kept to the safety of her family’s farm, desperate to forget the horrific day that took her mother and left Jo battered and broken. But the marshal of Sagebrush is everywhere--he controls everything--and for years Jo has had to stomach the false pleasantries and knowing glint in the eyes of the man who killed her mother. When Jo discovers how deep the marshal’s seedy dealings run she decides that fear will no longer keep her silent. But just when Jo plans to expose him for what he really is, the marshal plays a card of his own—his notoriously scandalous son, Clayton. As Jo and Clayton are thrust together, lines become blurred, truths are revealed, and Jo must decide what she is willing to sacrifice in exchange for retribution. Dust and Shadow is a post-apocalyptic love story and Victorian adventure set in a devastated and forgotten world of the American wild west.

Review: World Before (ARC) by Lindsey Pouge and Lindsey Fairleigh

Star Rating: 4/5 stars
Recommend: Yes
Final Thoughts: Excellent intro to characters

I received a copy of this book for an honest review by the wonderful Lindsey Pouge.
This is possibly the shortest review I have ever written. I absolutely enjoyed this novel. I felt as though I was able to connect with the characters better knowing their stories of Before.
I can't say if I have a favorite part and I do not intend to do any spoilers.

Again, shortest review ever!

Do I recommend? Yes, I recommend after completing the series.
Final thoughts: sobbing my eyes out and smiling like a girl who got her favorite treat

You can order World Before on Amazon for Kindle HERE or for Paperback HERE

Until next time my Dragons!

Meet Author Jenetta Penner

I have a wonderful treat for you all!!!

An interview with Jenetta Penner, author of Configured! So come on in, grab a cup of coffee and meet Jenetta!

I had the wonderful opportunity to read Configured before it's release in 2016. I fell in love with it! You can read my review HERE. Now I am waiting on Immersed, which sounds a-mazing. Jenetta is the second author to do this review. I had asked if she could share with us a teaser, however, Immersed is still in it's editing stage and she said she would love too once that is done. So we all have to wait in anticipation! *screams with excitement*

Review: Secret of Camp Whispering Pines by Tara Ellis

Star Rating: 4/5 Stars
Recommend: Yes for your Nancy Drews out there

Here is my extremely short review for Tara Ellis's second book in her Samantha Wolf Mysteries.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I was not disappointed. Tara Ellis did it once again. This book not only was just as fun and fast paced as the first book, but it was another good mystery.
I was so excited to get a message from Tara, asking me to read this book for an honest review, since I loved the first one. Sammantha Wolf reminds me of a younger, modern Nancy Drew. I highly recommend this book to any kids or younger teens who loved Nancy Drew.
Forgive me for the short review, but I just loved it so much, I can't write it down!

Review: The Mystery of Hollow Inn by Tara Ellis

Star Rating: 4/5 Stars
Recommend: Great for Middle School Grade

I reached out to Ms. Ellis on GoodReads when she first came out with this book. She was looking for reviewers who was willing to read her new middle school level mystery novel.
I was so thrilled to get a chance to read it because I LOVE (still do) Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. So I gave this book a chance and love it! I highly recommend if you have a middle school grade reader who loves Nancy Drew.

So here is my short and quick review!

Come and Meet Author: Lindsey Pouge

I am so excited about this "interview" that I did. I got to talk to Lindsey Pouge and ask her what I personally have wanted to ask. I first discovered her books when she wrote After the Ending, which is one of my all time favorite dystopian novels. Sadly, I haven't read the rest of the series, however now that they are all published, I will be binge-reading.
One thing I love about her is that she is honest and her writing is fresh and relatable. I know you all will love to read her books too!
You can visit her website HERE and get more information on her books.

So everyone! Lets meet the awesome Lindsey Pouge!

Review: Apex Predator (book 1) by Glyn Gardner

Star Review:  4/5 stars

Source: The author sent me a ecopy of this book for an honest review.

Apex Predator had a great plot, great characters and it was a page turner. I really enjoyed this book. I had no idea it was a zombie book, which is one of my weaknesses. I really enjoyed reading it! I couldn't put it down.

As for what I disliked...
The editor of this book has disappointed me. I've read books with typos before but the Editor is suppose to fix all the typos. I constantly ran across typos and words that don't fit.
For example. One page the character Jackson was talking but the name Anderson was there instead. (This happened sometime after the "Body Shop" incident.)

Other than the editor's failed attempt at doing his/her job, this book was wonderful! I really enjoyed it

Review: Elixer by Ted Galdi

Star Rating: 5/5

This novel was second author requested read and my first physical ARC copy. I would re-read this book, however, it was lost during the hurricane.
I find it funny really, a friend of mine read this book and she hated it. Which I couldn't see. I fully enjoyed this book.
Read my really short review, for Elixer, below.

Review: Once Upon A Road Trip by Angela Blount

Star Reviews: 5/5
Recommend: Highly

I have to say, I am quite impressed with this book!
First I want to apologize to Mrs. Blount about the long time of reading before I could write this review.
Now onto my review.
Angeli, she is such an amazing character with a great personality. I enjoyed her road trip on meeting her friends and seeing how much she cared about them. I enjoyed reading her growth as a person and to discovering herself.
Angela Blount wrote an exceptional book about learning ones self and discovering her purpose.
I know my review is quite short, but I can not put into words how much I enjoyed this book.
Thank you!
